For a character in my (very new) comic, who is as of yet unnamed:

1. No, they travel light. However they do sleep with a knife (sheathed, of course), claiming it’s for safety, but it has become a sort of comfort object.

2. All but the hardiest plants die of neglect in their care. They don’t have any pets, but they do love animals and can look after dogs and cats for short periods of time (weeks).

3. They are ace. N/A

4. Stunning, which is why they don’t wear it.

5. Fuck no. They would not appreciate people yelling “speech!” at them.

6. They will usually take or at least consider advice from their friend Pitch (neither of them will admit that they’re friends but they are). They will never usually take advice from pretty well anyone else.

7. Distrustful, reserved, (secretly) caring. They’d likely decline to answer, firstly because they don’t want you to know, but they also don’t know what to say to that.

8. Intrigue.

9. Not really, but they appreciate metaphors.

10. If it was that point in their life, they’d want to be sixteen. If it was just age and they’re in the same situation they are now, then they’re fine with their current age.

11. They’d put it in multiple accounts across multiple banks and investment folios, keeping a fair amount accessible in untraceable currency (cash is no longer commonly used or regulated in this society) However, they might splurge a little on better places to stay, as they currently sleep anywhere they deem ‘safe’ enough.

12. No. They find romance to be a waste of time and they are overall confused by the concept.

13. They learned from their parents that it is best never to show emotion or weakness. Also how to tie a good knot.

14. No. They think people should shut up and stop apologising for what they enjoy. They also make fun of people for liking certain things.

15. Smalltalk, interpersonal dramas in real life, politeness, romance.

16. Pretty much what they already wear. Tough, manoeuvrable, comfortable, functional clothing.

17. Sometimes. Kind of. It’s easier to say no and let there be exceptions.

Thank you, anon. I appreciate your words, but as I stated in one of my previous posts, Wattpad reports are finicky. I believe at this point, we're at day thirteen of dealing with this plagiarizer and day four of it being public and yet despite it all, the plagiarizer has still yet to budge.

So, I thought I'd give another update and give the information we discovered in our findings. As to what we know is copied and from who. Keep in mind, one of these four copies stories has already been taken down and done with. I'll specify which in a moment.

Before I proceed, if you happen to be one of the original writers mentioned in this post and you want your portion removed from this post for whatever reason, let me know. I do not want to upset anyone, except the plagiarizer. At this point in time, I care little for their feelings on the matter when they've had plenty of time to make things right.

The plagiarizer: Kristynaka1

FIRST.

Obviously, the first story that was discovered was mine, with all the information linked in the posts at the very top. I was made aware of this by the inbox from a kind reader. Ever since then, I've been dealing with this plagiarizer.

My mutuals and I found it weird that somehow, the plagiarizer had relatively good grammar with few mistakes in the story. Yet every little note or message they sent, had many spelling mistakes and was sometimes difficult to read. It was inconsistent and strange, and we couldn't make sense of it until we had a theory which some readers in the comments here have already suggested. We theorize that the plagiarizer began to use AI.

Of course, we can't prove this but how else would a user who can't format and type proper messages be able to write whole paragraphs that are actually legible and understandable?

ChatGPT was available to the public sometime in 2022. Before 2022, many of their "stories" were copy and pastes from Tumblr. After 2022, there were differences in the copied stories that made it harder to find the original story and connect it to the original writer. Differences in writing that I doubt the plagiarizer wrote themselves if we go by their messages like:

SECOND.

After a few days, one of my mutuals began to suggest searching for the origins of other stories as they doubted any of the posts belonged to the plagiarizer. Low and behold, we found three others. The first of which belonged to @monst and their post. Just by comparing the first paragraph was enough to confirm that.

I won't go into too much detail as the links pretty much say all you need when you actually look at the evidence.

THIRD.

Not even an hour later, we found the second copied story from that oneshot book. Thankfully, there were only two stories there, so there aren't any more copied parts from that series they claim is theirs. The original is @ppsycho and their post. This one again looks like a direct copy, even the image is the same.

FOURTH.

This is the one that was already deleted, thankfully. So there is not many good screenshots I can present, except one before it was gone. So the original writer is @mint-yooxgi and their post.

Here is the only screenshot I have of the wattpad version, just to showcase that it did in fact exist, and it was copied.

So yeah, that's everything for now. If you check out the plagiarizer's profile and recognize the other stories I did not name, please let me know. We thought we found one of them on Quotev, but it wasn't.

I think I'll leave this off with something I typed last night in a chat:

In whatever way this ends, know that it will end badly for the plagiarizer. They can choose to ignore, but that won't make everything go away. People will remember, I will remember. If they go radio silent and try to forget everything but keep the stories up, comments will still be there. If they try to delete the comments, new comments will just be made. The comments will serve as warnings to others that might stumble across their account, and it will immediately make them click off the account or story because no one wants to read a plagiarized story. The account we see now will just be empty of real readers, so it will remain a miserable little place where each comment will serve as a reminder as to why plagiarism is bad.

Even if they do decide to delete and make another account yet again, whether they decide to copy the same stories they did before or pick entirely new writers to prey upon, it doesn't matter. Readers will either recognize them from before or new readers will notice the plagiarism taking place. It doesn't matter what they do. They will be found and dealt with in some way, shape, or form.

I hope those two or so years of small internet fame were worth it while they lasted.

I know that everyone azirocrows from eden because duh but stay with me okay. because I think there's a cool interpretation that isn't so much about crowley longing for aza(there's still plenty of longing) it's more about crowley seeing himself and his situation in aza/aza's situation and reflecting on his fall/situation and how that is reflected in aza's. basically cool parrallels and crowley hating the system and loving aziraphale. let's go lyric by lyric shall we

pretty basic stuff here. I think crowley see aziraphale as uniquely moral, just the epitome of everything right and good. now crowley has magic for all intents and purposes, but aziraphale he is true magic, the strength of aza's morals is something he can barely comprehend to the extent that it becomes magical. especially in the context of heaven, a heaven that doesn't share aziraphale's moral fiber. and even in the context of that aziraphale manages to be so good. he thinks it's so magical. and he equally thinks it's tragic because aziraphale should be the standard for good, aziraphale is the only real good thing and he has to exist in heaven. and the don't you agree, in the plot of the song, I like to imagine this being the early stages of crowley appealing to aziraphale to be friends. he asks aza if they can be agreed on his assessment of aziraphale's relationship with heaven.

as time goes marching forward and aziraphale finds that he does agree with crowley, crowley gets to discover so much more about aza. he discovers how lonely aziraphale is in heaven and he discovers how obscenely adorable aza is(just crowley falling in love with aziraphale and his magic and his books and his food and and and). Crowley finds himself urging aziraphale closer. for a few moments even he can't tell what his intentions are. does he just want aza to be less lonely? does he want to tempt aza toward evil? does he want to purify himself? does he just want to be less lonely? does he just want to be closer to aziraphale? perhaps it's a little bit of all of them. regardless his surprise when aziraphale does get closer to him and he gets to discover even more about him is pleasant but still strong

No tired sighs, no rolling eyes, no irony No 'who cares', no vacant stares, no time for me

crowley has seen so many tired sighs, rolling eyes, and examples of irony from heaven. but the closer he gets to aza, the more he discovers that aziraphale distinctly lacks them. those gabriel qualities that are holy in heaven, aza entirely rejects. but that doesn't mean he has qualities of the other side. the 'who care' nature of demons, the vacant stares he gets constantly down below, the time that beelzebub will make for crowley's nonsense. all of these things, aziraphale doesn't have. he cares so much, he only ever looks at things intently, and crowley has to be on his best behaviour around aziraphale or he gets really disappointed. crowley is falling so far in love with this angel. because aziraphale isn't a side, aziraphale defies sides and is so good. crowley can't stay away.

what crowley finds truly remarkable about this angel that the more he knows, the more his life becomes better. because the angel is so familiar, a version of himself that he had once wanted to be, a view in the mirror thousands of years prior. crowley isn't that person anymore. his idealism is now imprisoned in this demon body where it can't be expressed. the chivalry he wants to act upon for aziraphale, it's fallen, fallen on it's own sword. his innocence died screaming all the way down to the basement. but this angel that can express the idealism, that can be chivalrous, that maintains innocence in the face of everything, he feels familiar to crowley because at some point thats where crowley thought he would be, that's the reflection he had hoped to see in the mirror. so now he slithers all the way from Eden, just to sit outside aza's door and pretend that the window he peeks through is a mirror.

this relationship their forging, that they each fight for everyday in tiny ways, they see it in different ways. aziraphale views it as something so precious, something that he would rearrange the cosmos for. and while crowley also loves and values the relationship, he would firstly describe it as wretched. he's a demon after all, he's down with the wretched. aziraphale doesn't see it that way and trying to explain it to him is always a struggle. when crowley attempts he doesn't even know where to even begin (((author brainrot interjection: IT BEGINS AS IT WILL END IN A GARDEN anyways back to out regularly scheduled programming)))

he begins before his fall, back when he still had idealism and chivalry and innocence. he knew even then that something was broken with this system, he had questions about it, he had suggestions. and more importantly, he had hope. he had hope that people would answer his questions, they would listen to his suggestions, they would understand where he was coming from, they would want the same thing that he did for the system, to make it better. but to suggest or ask a question that said the system is broken, that was a sin.

so yes, aziraphale is familiar, aziraphale feels like that angel that crowley almost was. and as he sees this idealism imprisoned in heaven, as he watches the other angels pushing aziraphale onto his own sword like a vampire on a stake, and bears witness to this pure good being ostracized by the people who are supposed to be the good ones, he kills the last bits of innocence in his soul, he loses any hope he had for the system, he burns it all to the ground, he leaves eden, he just slithers to aziraphale's door and sits there

bonus aziraphale pov: as stupid as it sounds, aziraphale also sees himself in crowley. crowley is idealistic and chivalrous and though crowley never sees it, aziraphale loves the innocent parts of crowley. the way crowley takes care of his plants, the way his car is so important to him, the way his appearance takes up a significant part of his brain. aziraphale has lost care for the system as time went on. the innocent urge to make sure people are seeing what they wish to see, he left that behind a while ago. now all he has is the selfish want to do good. because aziraphale doesn't do good for other people, he does it singularly for himself because he makes him feel good. when he sees crowley, who cares so deeply about right and wrong as ideals, he sees a part of him in the past. the part of him that had tried so hard to be the angel god wanted him to be. so aziraphale sees crowley's idealism imprisoned in this demonic form because the system didn't let him express it. he sees a system that pushed crowley onto his own sword. he looks at crowley and he still sees that childlike innocence in his faith in objective good that's separate from god. that innocence that aza once had died screaming a long time ago. when aziraphale goes to see crowley, he feels a little bit like he's slithering, that he's really the snake coming from eden to tempt crowley so he hides outside crowley's door.

Long post, but I want to reblog this version specifically for agentartemis's addition. I have mixed feelings about the other reblogs in this chain.

Firstly, transandrophobia and anti-transmasculinity arent diffetent ideas. Im using them interchangably because they mean the same thing, so if you specifically take issue with the *words* being used, that is not my problem.

The argument against the existence of anti-transmasculinity/transandrophobia is that transmascs benefit from the patriarchy. Sure, being masc gives you the *potential* to benefit from patriarchal norms but for that to happen you have to be acknowledged and respected by the world at large as a man.

For me and countless people, that will never happen because I wont ever pass as a man, and I don't intend to. My nonbinary friends, my multigender friends, my intersex trans friends, and my non cis-passing friends get caught in the crossfire of a black-and-white argument that applies to a minority of trans men. We're going to spend the rest of our lives facing misogyny, *because* we are trans.

Transandrophobia isn't transmisogyny in reverse- its the name for a different combination of misogyny and transphobia that transmascs wanted a word to describe, which exists under the umbrella of transphobia. Like how any other label works. Let us talk

transandrophobia isnt real the way transmisogyny is real because thats not how intersectionality works. transmisogyny is specifically the intersection of oppression transfemmes face of transphobia and misogyny. for transandrophobia to be real, androphobia itself would have to be real. men are not an oppressed class. there is no systemic disenfranchisement men face for being men when living in a patriarchal society. transmascs absolutely face transphobia, and there are certain aspects of transphobia that may be different between transmascs and transfemmes, but that is not transandrophobia.

This is a fantastic explanation for why the term faces skepticism and I appreciate it because it's finally made the argument against it click for me

The remaining issue is, I don't have a different word to use when I specifically reference "transphobia that is distinctly directed towards trans men in ways that combine transphobia bioessentialism and mysoginy, that is similar to but also slightly different from that which is directed towards trans women" that still acknowleges that trans men are not women

IE, "You're not a man, you just hate facing oppression as a woman", "You're not trans, you just have internalized mysoginy", "You don't have to be a man to accomplish your goals, You're just pretending to be one so you don't have to face female gender discrimination", "Transitioning to male means you're eager to oppress women", "Now that you're a man you don't have to deal with mysoginy or gender-based violence", etc

I think the men's rights movement is bullshit, don't get me wrong, but walking around being an openly trans man, emphasis on trans man and not just man, seems to read to a lot of people as "female gender-traitor pervert", and I don't have the VOCABULARY for that experience

Headcannons about DMK and how I interpret him

I wonder how many times I've posted about this subject already...

Like, I've said that I don't like when people potray him like an asshole and nothing else. But I also don't really like when he's just, randomly good.

So, the way I see him is as a bad person. Like, he's reclusive, he's mean and aggressive, he's spitefull, he's can't be trusted and he never apologised to anyone. But there's a reason why he's like that ; let me explain...

Since he's a darker version of Meta Knight, wich to me means that all of his qualities are weaker, while his defaults are stronger. And MK already has a lot of darkness within himself, so DMK himself is much, much worse. And unlike his normal counterpart, he does not hold back.

I think it's said somewhere that he was created by Dark Mind at the beginning of Amazing Mirror. If that's not true, then it's a cool headcannon. I like it, because it'd mean he was created to be a slave. He basically was born into this world as the shadow of someone else to carry the orders of who wiewed him as a pawn. He had no idea what was happening and followed DM's orders due to his lack of will at the time. Even then in the game he does weird stuff, like multiplying Kirby by four, so maybe he wanted to fight back a bit. We'll have to wait for information and see.

Another thing is that I believe he's completly traumatised by his time in the mirror. People have talked about how he corrupted Sectonia (wich I think is disconfirmed) but not about how he was locked up in that mirror for presumably a very long time. When we see him all he wants is revenge, unable to think about anything else. We've seen with Galacta and Fecto how imprisonement can fuck up somebody in this franchise, so it's not too far fetched to think DMK himself sorta went insane as well. I headcannon him as somewhat claustrophobic because of that, perhaps even reluctant to return to the mirror world.

Finally, I'd expect him to have some kind of self worth issues. You CANNOT tell me a guy who's literally made to be the worse version of somebody else would'nt... Do you think he does'nt like Meta Knight because he resents him ? And wants to become his own person by straying away from him the most he can ? Perhaps he also resent his own creator, Dark Mind. I like to immagine he sometimes he has intrusive thoughts about how he's worthless and should'nt even exist, but he quickly shoves that in the back of his mind, delaying the momment he's gonna acknowledge that.

To me, he's a very destructive, both to others and himself. That man needs therapy ASAP. He IS an asshole, but he's not a monster.

There are so many way to interpret this character, I can't stop thinking about him. Let me know about what you think !

you know what’s great about shows set like. pre-1950s. is that there’s virtually no product placement. like in modern day tv shows, even ones set several decades ago, product placement actually comes naturally and is hard to distinguish as product placement because brands are so integrated into our daily lives. saying “i’m gonna get an uber” is so much more natural sounding than “im gonna get a rideshare,” and “im gonna get a taxi” is now anachronistic.

as a 36-year-old adult i cannot tell you how many times conversations have turned into what feel like advertisements. “i found out i was overpaying on my car insurance when i recently switched to geico” like it makes me insane and i feel like im on the truman show every time but these conversations HAPPEN. in REAL LIFE. they are realistic and natural because brands are such a part of our daily life.

plus that’s not even taking into account how set dressing is product placement in itself. think of jerry seinfeld’s kitchen. all of that cereal? all of those visible dry goods on the shelves? i don’t know for sure if it was always product placement but a good chunk of it was. in order to NOT have brands, you either have to turn all the products around (labor-intensive, and not always fully effective as some products are recognizable from the back) or create brandless versions (also labor-intensive). it’s easier to have product placement in modern shows than it is to avoid it.

but in shows/movies set in the more distant past, like our flag means death or dickinson, that just…cant happen. they can’t casually drop in “oh i charted out our route using google maps” or “we’re all drunk let’s go to mcdonald’s” like. it just cannot happen without sounding totally weird and being completely wrong. maybe dickinson could have wedged in, like, a reference to king arthur flour (founded in 1790), but other than that, very few brands existed back then that are still being advertised today. these shows are really a breath of fresh air in that way.

Bruce does love his kids, that doesn't mean that he hasn't hurt them. That kind of boundary isn’t reasonable because it extends outside of the coiner’s jurisdiction. Since again, transID and its alternatives have different fucking definitions, this makes trans-x, disso-x and desir-x… different fucking terms. So if you coin trans-x and someone else coins disso-x or desir-x, they are not crossing your boundaries around term stealing.

if you antis seriously want to use a transid label that bad that you have to have to steal the term from the original owner, maybe you should think about some things.

Radqueers do not own a monopoly on the experience of feeling atypical dysphoria?

What do you think happens when a radqueer who feels atypical dysphoria leaves the community? They don’t just stop feeling that. There are also people who feel atypical dysphoria who have never entered the radqueer community in the first place and don’t want to. They might go on to use transIDs separately from the radqueer community, but they also might not be comfortable using terms that encompass harmful transitioning. Or maybe they simply don’t experience their atypical dysphoria in a way analogous to transgender.

There are so many reasons why a non radqueer would use an alternative term. They’ve “thought about things” more than radqueers wanting everyone to use transIDs, honestly.

now i understand if it’s something non-specific like transage/arissoage, like that’s reasonable to be like “you can’t restrict this” because it’s something so vague, but if it’s something specific, it’s not reasonable to get mad over.

Anyone can feel atypical dysphoria about specific things and describe it with transID alternatives. You’re still encouraging the unreasonable restriction of these terms being coined even if you’re doing it for a smaller amount, with more vague terms being “allowed to exist” but more specific terms not.

I don’t know what situation you’re referring to, but since you used the word arisso I suspect you’re referring to one in particular.

@/acetrappolaswife, the coiner of arissomei before it was recoined as dissomei, created arissoimmoral as an umbrella term for any harmful arissomei identities. The public coining of anything more specific than that was explicitly forbidden, as it could be seen as glorifying the harm the term would describe. One radqueer coined these terms anyway and received backlash from both @/acetrappolaswife and other antis as a result.

You can clearly see how this situation differs. The radqueer did not coin equivalent transIDs to arissomei identities; they coined arissomei identities the coiner of arissomei had forbidden.

there is not enough femslash in batcest circles. the girls deserve to be just as weird about each other as the boys are. if BruDick gets to be weird father/son/brothers/lovers/friends/rivals/soulmates then it is only fair that Babs/Cass get to be mother/daughter/sisters/lovers too. Something about that deep intrinsic but undefinable love that is born out of trauma, especially if you consider Cass not knowing what healthy love looks like in the first place. i think it's fun and deserves just as much fandom content.

besides that, you can get even more niche with rarepairs like Helena/Steph. Huntress/Spoiler: Blunt Trauma is already a fantastic comic and even though it's their only real canon interaction it has so much potential. very comparable to TimJay in how Helena tries to get Steph to understand her morals and the corruption you could play with it.

that comic also highlights on how both Steph and Helena are outcasts of the Batfamily and don't have the approval of Bruce to be doing what they do in "his city". I think there's so much Potential in Helena taking Steph under her wing because Bruce won't let her in and it becomes a weird codependent toxic sapphic mess. I think the protectiveness Helena feels over Steph from the get-go is so clear and the way she wants to look out for Steph, wants to make sure Steph understands the real world? I love them. Helena should be allowed to steal Steph, actually. I think it'd be fun.

there are a lot of other possibilities too like Babs/Steph or even getting weird with Helena Bertinelli/Helena Wayne and the existential question of "is it selfcest or not." But these two specifically live in my head rent-free, especially Helena/Steph and one day I'll convince everyone else to ship it too.

I think the portrayal of Spider-Man 2099 in Across the Spider-Verse is in-character in that aside from like Shattered Dimensions he's always been portrayed as a bit of an asshole who slips into anti-hero territory at times and generally has a "needs of the many over the needs of the few" mindset and given his specific circumstances in the movie it's not unreasonable to think he could take the actions he does. However it does kinda suck that since like 99% of moviegoers had no idea who he was before the movie came out their first impression of him is when he's in an antagonistic role and people think "antagonist" and "villain" are synonyms so now I'm gonna have to listen to people who've never read a comic saying he's a villain or isn't a real Spider-Man for the rest of time or at least until he inevitably changes his mind in the third one.

Randomly thinking about how the Getter team is obviously human, they are *not* normal but they are still humans who can die, and we see in most series at least one cast member is always killed off-

But sometimes in my mind I deny that they can actually die. Like, the amount of shit Ryoma and Hayato have survived is fucking insane, especially when you consider the only canon they die is the manga timeline which even THEN saids a lot.

Ryoma was absorbed into the Getter which is still a death but also because of how emperor is he’s most DEFINITELY been cloned by now even if we don’t see him, and Hayato only really got confirmed dead in arc anime, but who’s to say now that he’s been absorbed into the Getter too now technically the same wouldn’t happen to him? And this also doesn’t even count it happened for Musashi even if it’s the most fucked up.

But putting aside the insanity of the manga timeline for a second, most of Ryomas fate don’t even end up with him dead even if you could argue hes in purgatory in a sense, the arma ending is more vague but he likely lived but new? As painful as it is he is still ALIVE and kicking ass even if we only see it for a frame.

At this point the Getter Team is immortal but not in the traditional sense, just immortal in “the narrative will keep me alive in various different ways and my god even if I suffer I’ll make use out of it” way.

So, I have a headcanon regarding Outlander and Valkorion

Spoiler territory for pretty much the whole game (mostly Jedi Knight and Sith Warrior class stories and all expansions from Shadows of Revan).

How does Outlander (especially non Force user) defeat Valkorion in KotET? This question bothered me (and I'm sure all of you) for quite some time. And frankly, the game doesn't answer it very well. So I did some thinking, searching and theorizing, and found a solution that I will bring in my personal stories. Just thought it would be interesting for others to see as well.

Explanations offered in the game:

Valkorion's power had become weaker at some point (as noted by Arcann in chapter 8 "Taking Flight", and indicated by events on Ziost, since Theron wasn't possessed, and by Valkorion in chapter 9 "Eternal Throne", when he said that he needed Vaylin's power to destroy Outlander's mind);

Arcann and Vaylin helped defeat him;

The holocron was the instrument of Valkorion's defeat (but it's never properly explained how exactly);

The "kneel before the dragon of Zakuul" phrase worked on Valkorion because the Outlander said so.

It doesn't sound too bad, but when I tried to go into details, it didn't make much sense. "My mind, my rules" was really out of nowhere, also kinda goes against the previous experience of Outlander not being able to do anything about Valkorion before that. And Arcann and Vaylin being on your side isn't the key either because even the three of them were still losing, it only changed after the main character said the key phrase. And why the heck does it even work like that? Because they said so? Gee, should've thought about it a few chapters before, no?

Now, what I came up with doesn't really go much different from that, I just made some adjustments to make it flow better (at least for myself). I'll talk through my thoughts in chronological order, so bear with me (I tried to summarize it at the end, so scroll if you want the short version).

Vitiate learned to transfer his spirit as one of the ways to be immortal. It can happen either through a ritual, which is preferable since it's easier, doesn't weaken him, and he doesn't need time to adjust, but it does require consent from a person, or killing the previous host, which does weaken him for some time. The longer he has possessed a host, the greater the loss of power will be upon the transfer. It's not to say that he isn't dangerous, quite the opposite, but perhaps he can't do some 'impossible' things (like consume a planet or shatter a mind) just like that.

He was at his full power before the events on Belsavis and Voss, timeline wise. Remember how easily he possessed the minds of the Jedi on the strike team? Yeah, Jedi Knight broke free, but that's bc they're super strong (and the main character in their storyline).

But because of Baras Vitiate had to be released from the body on Voss by being killed, which made him slightly weaker, just enough for the Hero of Tython to kill him again on Dromund Kaas. That made him lose more power (because he possessed this body for much longer than that Voss), and Vitiate tried to find a new host and regain his power (either by Revan reviving him or consuming all life on Ziost). His attempts were not successful, so he retreated to Zakuul.

That would explain why after being 'killed' yet again on Zakuul (thus losing two of his main hosts) Valkorion wasn't powerful enough to possess the Outlander's mind (regardless of their class). He was in a pretty vulnerable position, so he came up with a plan. We'll get to it. For now, Valkorion understands that if the Outlander dies, he'll be even weaker and probably won't be able to get a new host, so he protects the Outlander while pushing them to use his power.

Every time the Outlander agrees to do so gives Valkorion more control over their body, and even if they never agree, the bond grows stronger as time passes, it's just faster when Outlander uses his power. Eventually it would be just strong enough for Valkorion to use the main character's body without their permission (like in chapter 16). But he's still not powerful enough to break their mind, so he goes to the next part of the plan.

Valkorion manipulated the main character into killing Vaylin (and Arcann, if applicable) because he needed to consume her power to destroy Outlander's mind (which is what happens in chapter 9). But he made a couple mistakes in doing so. First, he underestimated how smart Commander is, and how the bond allowed them to take his form to survive. Second, by consuming Vaylin's spirit, Valkorion gained not just her strength, but also her weakness, which is the conditioning.

But wait, didn't Vaylin free herself from it? Sort of. I saw a suggestion from another player that Vaylin didn't get rid of conditioning itself, but rather the lever that triggers it. It's possible because the process on Nathema didn't exactly according to the plan. And because of that, Valkorion also gained her conditioning after consuming her spirit.

So, what does that mean? What does it do? Well, I think that when the key phrase is said in presence of Vaylin, she temporarily loses her connection to the Force (or it becomes so weak that she can't use it), thus isn't a threat. And the same happens to Valkorion when the main character attempts to use it on him in KotET chapter 9, at least for long enough for the Outlander to kill him. This way the victory isn't dependent on one's power in the Force, and it fits a non Force sensitive Commander as well.

What about the holocron? I explain this as it only binds, commands and releases spirits, as we see with lord Dramath. It's not the key to Valkorion's destruction, but it is still important because it is used to free Vaylin's spirit from Valkorion after her death (and Arcann's, if applicable), which gives Outlander a potential powerful ally.

[Just a little addition that has very little to do with my explanation, but wanted to mention - in the throne room, when Valkorion breaks Outlander's mind, he takes over the body and attacks your companions. They hold off long enough for Commander to put their mind back, and at that moment Valky loses control, and the body is unconscious.]

So, to sum it up:

Valkorion is weaker after being killed on Voss, Dromund Kaas and Zakuul, hence why the Outlander can resist him, regardless of theirconnection to the Force;

the holocron found on Nathema can bind, command and release spirits, which allows Outlander to free Vaylin (and Arcann, if applicable) from Valkorion;

the bond formed between Valkorion and Commander allowed the latter to survive after having their mind destroyed;

Vaylin didn't completely get rid of the conditioning on Nathema because the process didn't go as it should've, it just removed the trigger;

by consuming Vaylin's spirit Valkorion gained both her strength and her weakness - her conditioning, that's why it worked on him, and it temporarily weakened his connection to the Force.

I know this isn't perfect, there are probably plot holes that I haven't noticed or poorly explained, but I like it much more. Why do I even bother with this explanation?

I just love doing mental gymnastics around KotFE-ET, and this particular part was difficult yet entertaining to figure out.

But honestly, probably most important reason is that it works for every class (so even non Force-users are fitting here) because strength in the Force is not the key. Valkorion underestimated how observant and clever Outlander is, and I think it works better for their characters.

Using this as an audio reference for the posts I'm making, but to summarize:

Yuri starts out mad.

Yuri tries to calm himself down with a deep breath to ask for details instead of going through it angry.

Flynn doesn't say "like a good knight" in the sense of putting himself down. He simply says "as a knight" (the tl here doesn't use that, but with that included it's basically along the lines of "even though I had doubts, as a knight, I was determined to follow my orders").

Once Yuri has answers he calms down significantly.

Yuri uses " 'ttaku", which is a shortened down version of "mattaku" (Yuri often shortens words and speaks very casually), which in this particular situation basically would mean "geez", or "good grief". In this manner, it's expressive of exasperation/frustration/etc.

Yuri never mentions that "Flynn told him what to do" like the dub does (because in fact Flynn did not ever tell Yuri what to do. He only gave Sodia and his other knights orders. He expressed his own desire to take responsibility, but never told Yuri and his friends what to do).

At this point you can tell the anger has gone out of him and that he's calmed down, now that Flynn is approaching this with admission and responsibility.

Sodia is asking that Flynn returns as soon as possible (I believe this was a general translation error).

Flynn's thank you to Yuri is tonally much more heartfelt.

Yuri's response and gratefulness at Flynn coming back to himself is tonally much more heartfelt, relieved and sincere.
